ERA ORA!!!
Dopo la "riscoperta" dei funghi psichedelici in Messico (Wasson 1955) e le numerosissime ricerche sull'LSD (sintetizzato da Hofmann nel 1943) e su altri allucinogeni (mescalina) fin dagli anni '940, PRIMA DELL'ASSURDA "PROIBIZIONE" nel 1967 (vedi l'immensa bibliografia 1943-66 raccolta dalla Sandoz e quella successiva del National Institute of Drug Abuse 1975, nonché i MOLTISSIMI libri successivi, spesso estremamente interessanti) finalmente c'è UN RISVEGLIO anche sui potenziali USI TERAPEUTICI delle sostanze "psichedeliche" e “empatogene”.
E anche in Italia!
Meglio tardi che mai.
Ma ripeto, per questo insensato ritardo ringraziamo prima di tutto la proibizione dell'LSD nel 1967!
Perché ovviamente non possiamo dimenticare che anche la CANNABIS è un altro esempio di RISCOPERTA TERAPEUTICA recente.
La Cannabis era già usata 3000 anni fa in India e in Cina, ANCHE a scopo "terapeutico", ma poi è stata "proibita" (1937), e c'è voluta la scoperta del "sistema cannabinoide endogeno" (1990) per stimolare una rivalutazione medica.
Invece l'OPPIO è usato da 5000+ anni, ed è anzi – con i suoi derivati (morfina, codeina, eroina, idromorfone, ecc.) e analoghi di sintesi (metadone, buprenorfina, meperidina, fentanyl) – l'UNICO FARMACO ad aver attraversato, senza perdere nulla del suo valore, l’INTERA STORIA DELLA MEDICINA dall'antichità a oggi.
Eppure abbiamo visto che ancora oggi anche con gli oppioidi si possono fare pasticci enormi, essenzialmente per ignoranza (dopo 5000 anni!!!) e superficialità. Vedi l'attuale crisi USA, con più di 1 milione di morti in 20 anni, a partire dal disastro fatto – da casa farmaceutica produttrice + medici troppo spesso sbrigativi e incompetenti – con il famoso OxyContin e soprattutto dopo l'arrivo sul mercato nero del fentanyl, sostanza tutta di sintesi, ma da dosare a FRAZIONI DI MILLIGRAMMO e quindi ingestibile sul mercato nero, che non prevede queste finezze (e notare che il fentanyl, temo, ha cominciato a essere prodotto a seguito del grande successo della lotta contro l’oppio in Afghanistan, con conseguente crollo della produzione di eroina!).
In realtà non bisognava essere dei geni della scienza per capire che TUTTE le "droghe" naturali e i loro principi attivi, solo per il fatto di essere "psicoattive", hanno potenziali usi terapeutici, e infatti sono state usate da sempre ANCHE a questo scopo.
Ma come ho scritto più volte, CI VOLEVA LA GRANDE FOLLIA del "proibizionismo" (idea luminosa del 1912!) – che evidentemente non è stato opera di grandi geni della scienza e della politica, e infatti non solo non ha minimamente risolto il "problema abuso di droghe", ma l'ha moltiplicato per 1000, in più creando dal nulla infiniti ed enormi problemi nuovi, a partire dalla grande criminalità organizzata – PER RIUSCIRE A FARE PASTICCI ENORMIi anche sugli usi terapeutici delle "droghe".

I primi 3 sono importanti perché l'LSD è stato impiegato con buoni risultati anche nell'accompagnare alla morte (a partire da Aldous Huxley, che nel suo ultimo giorno chiese di poter avere una dose di LSD, e dagli studi di E.C. Kast, Sydney Cohen e altri nei primi anni '960), e l'ultimo è una BELLISSIMA enciclopedia di oltre 900 pagine sulle infinite piante psicoattive scoperte nei millenni dall'umanità.
